My Creative Space

No, my dearest readers, I have not forgotten. I know I am yet to post the photos of my previous market table from the Northside Makers Market especially after my lengthy discussion on how my setup should be like. The photos are forthcoming, I promise!

With our next market coming up on Sunday, I've been hard at work creating more items! Have a look at today's creative space:

Aren't they adorable? They are little brooches for the little people and for those young at heart, guranteed to bring laughter and joy into your day. At a very low $2 dollars per little girl, you can pick up one for your very self if you come by and have a visit at Yarraville market! The poster is on our side bar if you'd like to have a look at the location details.

I have more that's been flying out of the creative space today but they require some more tweaking, so I'll show them tomorrow. Here's a little hint: ear studs. Whee!!

It's Spring!

Before we begin, let me start by saying, this is going to be a long entry.

Did you grab that cuppa? Good. Now we are ready.

It's Spring!

For us here in Aussieland anyhow! The sun was out and shining with all its might today. Clear blue skies with the odd lazy white puffy clouds. It was such a perfect day for a picnic!

Just look at those blooms I spotted over my neighbour's fence! I hope he didn't think I was trying to peep into his house when I was desperately trying to prop myself just that bit taller so I could take a clear shot of them. It's not very convenient being short sometimes.

But they are quite the beauty, aren't they? And they do make one feel terribly happy inside.

Unfortunately for me, the spring warmth didn't quite extend to the inside of my house so it's still rather much like winter inside! We seem to lack insulation.. Ah well.

You know what else comes with spring? Beautiful beautiful yummy fruits!

Okay, so that's just a lemon, but it's a beginning! I've been craving for some sweet mangoes and watermelons... it won't be long now!

I do so love Spring! So much so that I had to come up with something that would always remind me of the sun's warmth.

Check out this sparkling sun brooch!

You can purchase it here

Made with swarovski crystals (an abundance of them!) and artist craft wire, it will sparkle and shine in the sun, dazzling you with its pretty colours! Go ahead, get one. You know you need one for this season's spring and summer!

Features

Little Waltz was featured a few days ago on Indie Craft Corner, pop by to have a read of my tiny story!

I also managed to snag another treasury:

Swan Lake

I'm so in love with the Purple dress! That seller is so incredibly talented! I'll hopefully have a full feature of her sometime soon, but until then, go check out her store here. Her dresses are so simple yet so incredibly creative!

That's it for today, I did warn you it was going to be long!
I hope you have been doing well, do drop in and say hi!

Melbourne, why do you tease me so?

I had a nice cheery photoshoot planned, but Melbourne decided to thwart my plans by raining on my head.
So instead of having my jewellery on the clothes line out back, I had to take my photos indoors. They didn't turn out that great, but they will work for now till the sun shines once more.

Here's what I was planning to put on the clothes line! I named it It's Laundry Day and it rather amuses me. Not that you can really tell from that shot, but it's a bracelet. (Purchase it here!)
I also have similar necklace with different shirts, but I think it's pretty much settled that I can't take any photos today! Not just because of the weather, but also due to the fact that I can't seem to hold my camera steady. And tripods are hard to handle because of the angles I tend to take my photos from.

So we'll just wait for another day. Hopefully tomorrow?

But let's talk about rain.

What do you do on a rainy day? Sit back with a cup of coffee / tea / hot chocolate and a good book? Snuggle up in your quilts and have a few snoozes? Or does the day continue as per usual and the weather generally doesn't affect your mood nor your activities?

I love to hum Raindrops keep falling on my head on rainy days. I love the rain, even if it does affect my activities. I also feel less inclined to go out. I love the rain, but I love it from inside! There's something terribly soothing about rain. I could stand at the door / window and watch it for ages. It's like Mother Nature's way of cleaning everything out, giving it a good ol' wash and after the rain, it all starts afresh.

Remember my raindrop earrings? They were my first ever wire sculptures (well I'd like to call them that, but I'm not sure if that's really the proper terminology). Once I've gathered up more materials, I'll be experiementing with creating a whole new line of wire sculpture jewellery. Again, I've not done my research: I don't know if there are other people doing this. But I'm not terribly inclined to find out. I'd like to play around with the wires and see what I can come up with, myself. Without any sort of influence, conscious or unconscious by the amazingly talented artists out there.

I started that thought with an addition to my rainclouds: a Lightning bolt.

It does look a little bit harry potter-ish doesn't it? I do think it's cute regardless, and there's the beauty of free-hand wire sculpting. No two finished items will look the same. It might look vaguely similar, but it will never be 100% the same. The picture above also shows my new packaging for the brooches that I will be selling and hopefully stocking up for the christmas markets I'll be doing at Camberwell Sunday Market in December. (You can purchase the above brooch here.)

It's all terribly exciting isn't it? So now it's your turn to tell me.
What do you do on a rainy day?
